Your skin's booked out, too: Christmas skincare tips
These Christmas skincare tips come back to a few manageable habits: gentle cleansing, regular moisturising and sun protection.
Christmas catch-ups. Work deadlines. Shopping for everyone else. Somehow being the person who knows what’s happening, what’s missing and who’s bringing the salad.
By bedtime, washing your face can feel like one more job.
I understand. After more than 25 years as a beauty therapist, my advice is to build a routine you can manage on those nights, too.
You don’t need to arrive at Christmas with perfect skin. But you do deserve skin that feels comfortable and cared for along the way.
Here’s what’s worth keeping on the calendar.

1. Cleanse before you run out of energy
You know that moment when you sit down on the couch and realise you’re probably staying there? Try doing your evening skincare before that.
A gentle cleanse removes the day’s makeup, sunscreen and buildup. Use lukewarm water and your fingertips, rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Follow the directions for your cleanser, particularly when removing long-wear makeup or water-resistant sunscreen.
There’s no prize for scrubbing harder. Your skin doesn’t need to feel squeaky or tight to be clean.
Make it realistic: cleanse when you get home for the evening. There’s no rule saying you have to wait until bedtime.
Our Aloe Glow Cleanser can be your first step, but the habit matters most: give yourself a clean start, then follow with moisturiser.
2. Keep moisturiser in the routine—even when the weather warms up
A warm day doesn’t always mean your skin feels comfortable. You might notice a shiny forehead while your cheeks feel tight, or makeup catching on dry patches.
Let how your skin feels help guide your routine. A moisturiser that suits you should leave it feeling comfortable. Adjust the amount or texture as needed rather than automatically skipping it because summer is coming.
Hydration can help skin look temporarily plumper and make fine dryness lines less noticeable. It won’t erase every line—and that was never the goal.
Our Pomegranate Collagen Repair Day & Night Cream fits into that daily moisturising step. Use it consistently and give yourself time to notice how your skin responds.
Make it realistic: keep your moisturiser beside your cleanser. Two familiar steps are easier to remember when they’re right in front of you.
And yes, keep drinking water. Your moisturiser still has its own job to do.
3. Resist the last-minute skincare overhaul
An event is coming up. Your skin looks a little dull. Suddenly, trying a new serum, an extra scrub and a stronger treatment sounds productive.
That’s a lot of change for skin that was minding its own business.
In the lead-up to an occasion, stick with products you already know your skin tolerates. Follow exfoliation directions rather than increasing how often you use something to chase a quicker result.
If your skin feels sore, irritated or unusually sensitive, leave exfoliation out and seek advice if it persists.
Make it realistic: prepare for an event with consistency. A familiar routine is much easier to judge than three new products introduced at once.
4. Give yourself a treatment moment you can actually keep
A mask doesn’t need a perfectly tidy bathroom, a silent house or an entire Sunday afternoon.
It can be a small pause in an ordinary evening.
If Blueberry Boost Antioxidant Mask is already part of your routine, use it as directed on your jar. Set a timer, sit down and give yourself permission to stop for a moment.
You don’t have to turn it into another task to complete correctly. And leaving a mask on longer than directed doesn’t make it work better.
Make it realistic: choose an evening that usually works for you. The washing will almost certainly still be there afterwards.
5. Keep sun protection in the plan
More outdoor lunches, walks and Christmas gatherings mean sun protection deserves a regular place in your day.
Use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF50+ sunscreen according to its label, including reapplication. Combine it with protective clothing, a broad-brimmed hat, sunglasses and shade.
Remember exposed areas such as your neck, décolletage, ears and hands.
Your moisturiser, face oil and antioxidant skincare have different roles. Keep a dedicated sunscreen in your routine.
Christmas skincare tips: what matters most.
A routine you can repeat. Products your skin tolerates. Gentle cleansing, regular moisturising and sun protection.
You can enjoy your skincare without making every evening a facial appointment. Some nights, caring for your skin will take a few minutes. Other nights, you might want that extra treatment moment.
Both count.
